Jordan Barajas, MS
Jordan is a second year doctoral student in the Exercise and Nutritional Sciences program at Arizona State University. Her primary research goal is to reduce the risk of falls in people with neurological disorders by studying reactive balance in various populations. For her master's project in Dr. Peterson's Gait & Balance Disorders Lab, she investigated the cognitive and postural measures in healthy older adults and people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) while dual task reactive stepping. She was also involved in a two-week reactive step training program for PwPD and people with multiple sclerosis. During her time in Dr. Ofori's Pathomechanics and Neuroimaging Lab, Jordan is interested in using electroencephalography to study the cortical mechanisms underpinning reactive balance in PwPD. In her free time, Jordan enjoys crafting, playing Animal Crossing, watching anime, and going to the local farmer's market with her dog, Evie.
