Who We Are
The Pathomechanics & Neuroimaging Laboratory, under the directorship of Dr. Edward Ofori, aims to elucidate the neurological underpinnings of accelerated aging and neurodegenerative diseases. Leveraging state-of-the-art neuroimaging modalities, digital assessments and biomechanical modeling, our research focuses on advancing scientific understanding of conditions like Parkinson's, Charcot-Marie Tooth and Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
As Laboratory Director, Dr. Ofori brings over a decade of experience applying advanced MRI techniques to uncover biomarkers and signatures of neurological dysfunction. His vision is to pioneer patient-specific diagnostics and contribute to precision health solutions.
Our team comprises research scientists and clinicians with specialized expertise in gait analyses, clinical test administration, multimodal MR imaging, exercise prescription, computational neuroscience, and biomechanics. We actively collaborate with industry and academic partners to propel interdisciplinary research.
Notable achievements include discoveries of neuroimaging biomarkers for early disease detection, pioneering real-time neurofeedback systems, and over 50 publications in high-impact journals. Driven by intellectual curiosity and social responsibility, we disseminate knowledge through community outreach programs.
We welcome motivated students and researchers to join our mission. Contact us to learn about open positions, internships, and opportunities to participate in studies. We also invite inquiries from potential collaborators across science, engineering, healthcare, and industry domains. Together, we can unravel the mysteries of neurological disorders and translate findings into improved quality of life.
